Williams, Arizona - 78 very warm degrees and, of course, sunny
Miles from Gallup, New Mexico to Williams, Arizona...247 miles
Premium gas - $3.82...I averaged 28mpg, sometimes 29mpg
Drove through the following States...New Mexico and part of Arizona.

Listening to our Native American music, we left Gallup, New Mexico about 8:00am this morning. It was 37 degrees...which would feel like 60 degrees in Wisconsin. I had to chuckle...people were complaining of the cold and I thought it felt so nice...guess their blood is thinner than ours from up north.

Gallup is about 60 miles east from the Arizona border. As you can see the landscape is changing as we near the Arizona border...more rocks...sort of yellow in color and/or reddish.

Arizona border sign and we will be seeing more green landscape.

More rocks...the landscape has changed...

In Arizona we stopped at the Petrified Forest National Park. Actually, we stopped because I had to use the restroom...we (I) were glad we did stop. We watched a little movie at the Visitor Center regarding the Petrified Forest...very interesting!

This is a picture of an actual petrified tree that they had on display.

On our way to Williams, Arizona...the landscape is changing.

Stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Flagstaff. Same ole, same ole, same ole...but, we did stop.

We are now leaving Flagstaff on our way to Williams, Arizona. The landscape has really changed! Trees, trees, trees, green, green, green.

We have arrived at the Grand Canyon Railway. We will be staying here Wednesday, Thursday, and leaving on Friday. We will take the train to the Grand Canyon on Thursday and once we are in the Canyon we will take a motor coach around the South Rim. We will leave at 9:30am and return at 6:15pm. The train ride is a little over two hours long. Suppose to have entertainment...wild west.

This is the outside of our Hotel.

This is where we will have our meals and is located across the street from our Hotel. They will take us by golf cart to the restaurant since my mother has trouble with distance walking.

This sign is located outside of our Hotel.

This horse is located in the front of our Hotel.

This is the Train Depot and is located next to the restaurant. I will get pictures tomorrow of the train behind the Depot.

Inside the Train Depot where I picked up our tickets for Thursday's excursion.

Back to our Hotel...the following are pictures of the lobby. I will try and get better pictures tomorrow. It is a very interesting lobby. This place is full. A lot of people are traveling!

We are two hours (time) behind Wisconsin time. It is about 4pm and going to get ready for dinner at the restaurant. I will try and post pictures of the restaurant either tonight or tomorrow. I have to go to the lobby to use their internet service. For what we are paying one would think we could have service in our room...what can I say!

My Mom appears to be holding up well. We are taking our time and walking slow. Places are very accommodating to the disabled and elderly.

I will post, for sure, pictures tomorrow night of the Grand Canyon.
