Albuquerque, New Mexico - 65 degrees
Miles from Shamrock, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico...388 miles
Drove through the following States...Texas and part of New Mexico.

We left Shamrock, Texas around 7:30 this morning. We were in no hurry to get to Albuquerque until this afternoon. We took our time and stopped along the way. We drove in rain most of the way. Albuquerque was extremely to easy to get around...thanks to GPS.

The landscape is pretty flat and beige (my favorite color) with a lot of sage brush. Also saw a lot of prickly pear cactus...flowers were not open yet on the cactus.

We stopped at the Visitor's Center inside the border in New Mexico. Picked up a lot of pamphlets and information for next year's trip to Santa Fe. We also found out the balloons did not fly today due to the weather. Not sure if they are going up tonight either. We are planning on going to the area where they fly the balloons on Monday...suppose to be balloon races...weather permitting.

A lot of the over passes around Albuquerque have designs imprinted in the rocks and some have painted designs. I am trying to get pictures of some of the really pretty ones, but, it is hard to take pictures and drive.

We decided to go to Old Town today and will spend a lot of tomorrow there also. We are also planning to see some museums...it is so interesting to see all the little individual shops.

The venders in Old Town. I bought no jewelry...the quality of the jewelry is not the quality that Jane at Silver Feather has.

This is a picture of what one of the houses look like near our Motel. If you can enlarge the photo, I believe, this mislead person has an Obama sticker on his door.

This is where we are staying in Albuquerque. Jane from Silver Feather recommend this Motel...it is extremely clean and Jane told me that no one enters this property without the owner knowing...and...she was correct. I came in the back way and he was out the door before I got my car parked in the parking spot checking to see who was coming in the back way.

Early to bed tonight...I want to be up by Fiesta Park Monday morning EARLY!!
