March has been a very busy month...the children had spring break the second week of March so I went to the Cities for a few days...spent one night with Julie and one night with Jennifer and Chris. The children came to Eau Claire to spend a couple of days with me...Jennifer also came and spent a night.

My mother is spending her time this winter decoupaging chairs. She has cut out pictures of birds/flowers, etc and then decoupages the pictures on outdoor plastic chairs. Keeps her busy.

News from the Schneiders'...Last week we had boarded Matt’s preschool’s guinea pig. Megan took to it like you wouldn’t believe (Chris even enjoyed it). As we were bringing it back to school, a family asked if we wanted their guinea pig. After a little discussion we ended up with the guinea pig. Its given name is Ashes, but Megan has added the name Buddy to it. We have no luck keeping fish alive, but we can keep 4-legged creatures going-thank goodness!

The children also got haircuts during spring break...Matthew decided he wanted a mohawk haircut.

I took care of the children while Jennifer was in class. These children really to like to dress up in different clothes/costumes. This was Meggies' Halloween costume...she was Nurse Megan.

Matthew was dressed as Peter Pan. Note the red feather in Matthew's hat.

Jennifer decided it was warm enough for a bike ride. Meggie got a new bike...she outgrew her bike from the last few years. This year Matthew doesn't need any help riding his bike.

Mom walked and the children rode their bikes down to the playground to play.

================================================================
While the children were down visiting me we decided to take a trip to the Children's Museum. The museum has five exhibits: Toddler park, Bitty City, Kidstruction Zone, Body Smarts, and Lights, Camera, Action.

Got our hands stamped.

The Museum has three hands. Hands Across Eau Claire was a project to raise funds and awareness for the museum. The Hands Across Eau Claire project invited local businesses to sponsor hand statues designed by local artists and place them on their properties throughout the city.

The children were each given two voting tokens. The question of the day was...have you ever seen a spider web? Vote "yes" or "no".

The Half Moon Lake Market.

Matthew decided to be the Postman that day.

The Good Grub Diner.

Meggie cooked while Matthew and I had lunch.

Kidstruction Zone...they spent over an hour in this area. They built the front of the house, worked on the plumbing, and also wired the house for electricity (??).

The plumbing...

With the plumbing finished we moved onto the wiring...

"If" the wiring is done correctly the generator will make the fan blades spin around...the fan did not move.

The completed house.

After building, plumbing, and wiring the house we went downstairs to the activity rooms. In one area of the activity room was a large Harry Potter made statue from Legos.

There were many craft areas where the children could make worms, spiders, etc. from construction paper.

They also have an area with bugs (looked real) and sand...spent a lot of time in this area.

We had a great few days in Eau Claire and are now waiting for Spring, which is right around the corner....I can feel it!
